Going, Going...Can't wait till it is all gone!

I had another great week with Weight Watchers losing 3 more pounds. I really think it would have only been 1 1/2 - 2, but I caught the nasty stomach bug so that extra pound disappeared. Now hopefully it will just stay off! Due to loss my points went down by one so now I have only 22 points a day. I started at 24 and noticed a difference at 23 so I am anxious to see how 22 works for me. My goal last week was to get my five veggies/fruits in and I am happy to say that I made the goal 5 out of the 7 days so I am doing better and still pushing for this week. I did eat less of the 100 calorie snacks which is probably good. Next goal - I am 3lb away from 10% goal so I want to meet this within the next two weeks. Week 6 / -3 / - 17lb so far 8 cantaloupes, 1 sack of potatoes, and 8 sticks of butter have melted off this body!!

Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, It's Back To School I Go

HAPPY PRESIDENT'S DAY ...God Bless America! It was such a relief to have a nice long relaxing weekend, these last few weeks have been entirely too long. I think I am now ready to tackle tomorrow and the 23 darlings that await me! We actually had an extra day off as my adorable son began our Friday morning, vomiting all over my truck. For those of you who know me...I DO NOT do bodily fluids. In fact, I am the teacher who will not allow my students to go to the nurse unless they are broken or bleeding, with one exception...If you tell me you feel that you are going to throw up I will happily sign your nurse's pass and quickly get you out of the room. Anyways, back to my truck, I cleaned it up, gagging of course, and we turned around and headed home for the weekend. I am happy to report that we did not have any more messes and by that evening Dylan was back to himself. Saturday went by with me typing away trying to get a 20 page paper completed for my Master's class that end...

WOOHOO!!

Another great week with a lost of a 2 1/2 pounds! I actually didn't think it was going to be as good as it was because it seemed like I was snacking all week. Drinking the water has been coming really easy to me, but I am still struggling getting my 5 fruits and veggies in a day. So my goal for this week is to focus on the fruits and vegetables and not snacking on carbs until I have all five in for the day. Maybe if I keep the pack of 100 calorie cookies in front of me it will inspire me to quickly eat my fruits and veggies. Week 5 / -2.5 / -14lb. so far Lost 7 medium cantaloupes and a sack of potatoes off this body!!!

Such a lucky girl!!

I just had to share with you all what a wonderful husband that I have!! Usually Valentines Day is pretty low key for us...some cute cards, a nice dinner at home, and then snuggle time ;-), but this year, Dave surprised the heck out of me!!! On Valentine's morning he gave me my usual card with some lottery tickets and apologized for not getting me more, saying how hard it is to buy somebody something for Valentine's Day that wasn't chocolate. Of course, inside my head I was thinking well what about flowers, manicure gift certificates, jewelry, shoes, clothes, you get my drift. Anyways, I didn't say anything and the morning went as crazy as usual trying to get the kids and myself in the car and on our way to school. Of course we left 20 minutes late, knowing I had to stop at the bank, and discovered that my gas tank was on E which meant another stop at the gas station. Finally, I get to school a whole two minutes before the bell was going to ring to find a huge bag ...

A little more personal...

This summer I have three weddings that I will be attending, two of which I am actually in. This has caused me to take the leap and challenge myself to lose some weight before everybody's big day. In the beginning of January I started looking around at different plans and contemplating which wagon I should jump on. I decided to try Weight Watchers because I knew so many people who had success on the plan. I signed up online (since I am an online junkie) and chose the flex plan where I eat what I choose as long as I stay within a point range. The point ranges vary depending on calories, fat, and fiber. I have now been on the plan for a month and happy to report that I have lost 11 1/2 lb. and the best thing is that I haven't really given up anything, even CHOCOLATE! I have went back and forth on whether my journey to lose weight would be something that I would share on my blog, but then thought why not. Isn't blogging all about sharing the good, the bag, and the ugly? So now ...

Valentine's Preparation

Image
This is Dylan's first year really getting into the Valentine's thing since he is now in Kindergarten. Of course, that was after we reassured him that giving Valentine's to people didn't mean that you had to marry them! Our first Valentine's Celebration was to be today with a playgroup that we have been a part of for a couple of years now. So we worked hard on these last night making sure they were "BEE"utiful! We wrapped yellow and black pipe cleaners together, added eyes, and wings, and created the cutest bumblebees. Then we put a tootsie pop through his tail and attached it to a foam heart that had a special valentine message, such as "Hap'bee' Valentine's Day", "BEE" mine, "I like BEEing your friend." It took some time with little hands, but the experiences and memories are priceless! This Valentine craft came from FamilyFun.com, which is a great parent sight full of ideas that can usually be created by even the...

Zoe's 1st Haircut!!

Image
Zoe had her first haircut on Saturday! Her bangs had grown out to her chin, but the back was a few inches below her shoulders and were full of tangles in the morning which had been causing many tears. She is now sporting a new modern do...an adorable bob. It was a little shorter than I wanted in the back, but she has had many compliments which makes her think she is "miz thang"! She flips the front back and shakes it all around so I guess she likes it. She look so grown up now and I can't help missing my little baby girl!! I guess...Obladi life goes on!!

It's SNOWING!!!

Image
Let it snow...Let it snow...Let it snow!!! A couple weeks ago we had our first snowfall that left us with a whopping 1"! It was enough for Dylan and Zoe to have a little fun before we had to leave for a delayed school day. We are still keeping our fingers crossed for the big one though, the blizzard that will get mommy out of school for a couple days so we can have some winter fun.
