Mel's Box of Chocolates

A couple nights ago Dave's parents offered to babysit as a belated anniversary gift. Of course we are never one to miss a chance at free sitting so we decided to do dinner with some friends. Here we are ... What's that you say? You can't see my shoes? Oh my gosh, they are one of my favorite pairs. Here's a close up. Isn't the detail of the flower carved on the heel so cool? Sorry, back to the date. We went to a local seafood place that never ceases to have awesome food. We started with some nachos that were piled high with lots of good stuff and crab. I could definitely have had that for dinner. Instead for dinner, Dave enjoyed some Mahi with crab salsa that was delicious and I had some scallops in a rich cream sauce that perfectly complemented them. Both of our friends had the crabcakes which were thicker than any crab cake I have ever seen. Yum. My mouth is watering just remembering it. Oh and the Mojito and Sangria was awesome too! The best thing about the night...

The other day Zoe and I went shopping and she found a pair of shoes that she had to have. When we got home she put them on right away and didn't take them off all night. I'm not kidding...she even slept in them. Before she went to bed though she just had to take some pictures of her new pair of shoes. Yep, she is my daughter. Not to be outdone, I had to take some pictures of my adorable new shoes that were actually a birthday gift from a friend. (Thanks, Laurie, they were the best birthday gift ever...you know me so well!!!) Aren't they too cute? The ribbon is interchangeable so I can match every outfit. Now if only I can figure out how to tie the ribbon to make it look so pretty. I just may have to go visit my friend every morning to get her to change the ribbon for me!!
