Warning: This post contains bragging about my son. Last week at this time, we got to attend a special ceremony for Dylan as he was inducted into the National Elementary Honor Society. In order to be considered you had to have all A's, or no more than one B, and demonstrate leadership within the school and community. It was such an honor and boy was he nervous during the ceremony. But, he did it. He walked across the stage, took his good ol' time signing the book (he said he forgot how to write his D in cursive), got his certificate and pin, and made it back to his seat. My guy was so serious throughout the ceremony. He is such a hardworker and I'm so happy that he was acknowledged for his effort. Way to go, Dyl! PROUD OF YOU KIDDO!! We can't wait to see what God has in store for you, buddy boy!

It's been awhile since I've been tagged in a meme. Julie tagged me for " Eleven Things " a bit ago and as you can probably tell I've been slacking on this here blog so I'm just getting to it. Better late than never seems to be my motto lately. Without further ado. Here are the rules: -Post the rules -Post a pic of yourself & 11 random facts -Answer the previous Blogger’s questions for you -Create 11 new questions & tag new bloggers to answer them -Go to their blog/twitter/facebook & tell them they’ve been tagged My Eleven Random Things When a coworker told me that Davy Jones had passed away, my first thought was the pirate from Pirates of the Carribbean had died. I had no clue who Davy Jones was. I hate spin class yet for three weeks straight I've found myself getting my butt on the bike for class. Pinterest doesn't hold my interest. I'm a self-proclaimed multi-tasking magician. When I'm busy, I'...

Bad News: I have no idea what week I'm on for Blog210K updates. Good News: I'm still progressing towards my 10K Fantastic News: I've added more fitness to my regular routine as I've gone to classes at my gym twice a week for three weeks now! As far as my running...happy to say I'm still running. As far as the plan, I'm on Week 6 of the program with four runs of 10 minutes with a 1 minute walk in between and the 5 minute warm up and cool down. It's a long workout, but by golly I've done it!! Last weekend I ran close to 4 1/2 miles on both Saturday and Sunday. The one day was my longest run EVER. Unfortunately though I didn't get any other runs in throughout the week. Yesterday, I ran my first 5K since last spring. It wasn't so pretty. It was a cold, foggy, dreary morning and add that to not taking my warm up time and it was quite a tough run. For some reason I struggled to catch my breath pretty early on and had a burning in my...

For the past two weeks we have been busy, busy. Running here. There. Everywhere. Last night, I finally hit the wall. I could totally relate to my kiddos when they get to that point that they just have a meltdown because that is exactly what I felt like I was going to have if I didn't stop. We had that amazing ski getaway, then came back for a wonderful visit with my brother and his family for a few days. Throughout the last week we've had 2 lacrosse practices, 2 swim practices, 2 gymnastics practices, an Honor Society Induction Ceremony, and a gymnastics meet. Oh and celebrated Dave's birthday too! Meanwhile I've graded a bajillion college papers, double that 5th grade papers, and completed report cards to go home next week. Of course that is while working full time and attempting to keep up with kid's homework, laundry, dishes... You get the drift. It's been busy around here. So yesterday, I ended up backing out of a commitment I had made awh...
Conquering the Slopes

Over the weekend we left the beach and ran away to the mountains to enjoy some skiing at RoundTop . We headed over Friday after school so we didn't have to drive so far so early in the morning and would be nice and refreshed for skiing. The kids were up and at 'em early Saturday morning and after a big breakfast we were on our way. The kids became pretty quiet when they saw the ski slopes for the first time. Considering they were born and raised at the beach, those mountains were quite intimidating. After going through our stations to pick up the boots, skis, and poles about forever later we were out in the snow. The kiddos and I had lessons scheduled, but we had about 45 minutes to play in the Discovery area. Dylan and Zoe seemed to be natural on skis, making their way down the bunny slope without any problem. They enjoyed riding the magic carpet ride back to the top of the hill and doing it again and again. By the time it was lesson time they looked...
