Sensational Saturday

It seems like this summer I have blogged the same story: No time for blogging, enjoying life.  This week was no different. My brother and his family were visiting this past week so we were running here and there, hanging out on the beach, riding the boat, playing board games, enjoying yummy food. It was wonderful. Yesterday the weather took a turn for the better as the humidity left and a beautiful breeze blew in.  The kids and I visited daddy at work for lunch and had some fun geocaching on the way there and back home (I'll be talking more about our geocaching adventures soon!).  Last night we took a family bike ride to a local nature center where we enjoyed the view together.  The kids played on a playground there while Dave and I enjoyed some stolen kisses and hugs.  It was a perfect family night! Last night, we slept with the windows open and I think I slept the best I've slept in quite awhile!!  I woke up to sunshine streaming in my window, cu...

She Came, She Conquered, She Rides

Look what Zoe can do!! We have been riding bikes a lot this summer, especially after we got our new Schwinn bikes and I got that uber-comfy seat.  We have ridden to parks, the beach, the library, and all around town.  Zoe, though, was still sporting the training wheels the whole time and it made for pretty slow riding.  The boys would often ride ahead while we girls caught up in time.   We thought perhaps getting rid of the training wheels may speed her up some so the other night we talked her into letting us take them off.  Within minutes she was up and riding.  Gotta credit her dance and gymnastics with the awesome balance.  Turning made her nervous and we had a few crashes trying to master it, but before the evening was through she was riding up and down our street, turning successfully.   The next day we tackled starting off.  Zoe had it in her head that she couldn't get going  by herself and needed us to give her ...

The Incredible Shrinking Woman

Most woman dread going to the doctor and standing on that darn scale.   I am "most woman." However, after my latest doctor visit it wasn't the horizontal number that bothered me. Yeah, I'm sure it was slightly higher than I would like, but after the nurse told me my other number, my vertical number, I promptly forgot about my weight.  You see, for as long as I can remember when people ask me how tall I am I always say 5'3", even my license has that height then again it also says I'm 1** and goodness knows that's not true .  I honestly don't know where I got that number.  I assume at some point I was measured and the number stuck, but who knows.   But, when the nurse told me that my height was 5' 1 3/4", I was flabbergasted.  How could that be?  I mean I know I'm short, but that is shorter than short. Three weeks later it's still bothering me, hence this post! So learn from me ladies. Not only should you not trust th...

When Do You Blog?

I've spent the past three hours watching that rose show that is like a thorn in my side, but yet I still go back to smell it.  I figured I should be doing something productive while I was wasting time so a blog post it is. I actually have a question for you all. When do you blog? In the morning? During the day In the evening? Late at night? This summer I have struggled finding the perfect time when my muse hits.  In previous summers the mornings were always my computer time.  I would blog away with my cup of coffee, but for some reason this year it just isn't happening.  My cup of coffee, yes.  Writing posts, No.   Our days are jam packed with trips to the beach, bike rides to the library, picnics, pool days, cooking, baking, fishing, crabbing, visits to the fair, and just hanging out that there is absolutely no time for blogging then. So that should leave the night for my blogging, but I find that time is being spent reading books, wa...
