Oh Yeah. The Weight Thing.

I completely forgot my weekly weigh check in, but... I'm happy to report that my weigh in on Saturday showed the half pound I gained last week , gone again this week. WEEK 8 / -.5lb / -5.5lb Unfortunately nothing else was lost. I am becoming so frustrated with my scale. This morning I actually jumped on it! Hard. I even scared the cat. I've been counting all the points. Exercising way more than before. Drinking the water. Eating the veggies and fruits. Still my scale refuses to budge from 144.5 even now in the middle of the week. I'm crossing my fingers that it goes down some more before Saturday. I just don't know what else to do. It's a struggle to stay within my points (20) and I honestly don't think I could do it without delving into my Weekly Allowance Points, but I'm thinking I'm going to have to work harder to not use them. I also think I'm going to have to be hardcore with my weighing/measuring of food and take a very close look at wh...

Wordless Wednesday - The Chefs

Image
Okay not quite wordless, but if you visited our house tonight this is what you would have discovered. Dylan and Dave diligently put together fruit kabobs for Dylan's class tomorrow. Dylan is STAR OF THE WEEK so he gets to do special things all week and tomorrow is to share a snack. Aren't you proud of our healthy choice?? Zoe and I were busy being our own chefs and making some cinnamon pretzels with frosting to dip them in with her EZ Bake Oven. I gotta admit that they were pretty tasty even if they were minuscule (that's one in the bottom corner)! Subscribe in a reader Follow me on Twitter

Weekend Recap

How can the week drag by and the weekend be gone in a flash? It just isn't fair! This weekend went by especially fast as my parents visited for the first time since October! Of course we saw them over the holidays, but it was nice having them come visit for a quiet weekend. Whenever grandpa and grandma show up the kids are besides themselves as they are entertained and loved on from when they get here until they leave. I'm not complaining either because while the kids are being entertained, I can just relax! Not to mention mom always stays on top of the dishes and makes the morning coffee. Can't beat that! It was a pretty quiet weekend though. Instead of running here and there we just stayed low and hung around the house. There were Lego masterpieces built, tea parties enjoyed, dolls taken care off, Wii challenges, and a game of Life. Fun seemed to be had by all! I did manage to get all the laundry caught up without doing this , fresh sheets put on all the beds, grocery sh...

O Blogger, Where Art Thou?

My parents are visiting this weekend, which explains my absence around here. As I sit here and type, I can hear my dad with both of my kids running through the halls upstairs. There is nothing better than watching my kids playing with their grandparents. So forgive me for not being around. I'm enjoying life and the people I love being part of mine!! Tales from the Bowling Alley

Image
I had this in my draft for the past month, but thought today would be as good as any day to share it with you all. To cure our winter blues the other day, we decided to head to the bowling alley for some family fun. Let me just say that in the 13 years Dave and I have been together I can count on one hand the times we have bowled. This would be in part because Dave does not like to bowl. Go ahead. You can ask why. Well, it would be because it is something that he stinks at and anybody who knows my husband will tell you that Dave does NOT like to be bad at anything. This makes me want to bowl even more because I actually have a chance at beating him at something! On this day he was a pretty good sport. In between the whining about how much he despised bowling that is. When the game was done. This is what our final scores looked like. No, your eyes aren't deceiving you. Zoe beat all of our bottoms at bowling! Oh and let me point out that the "D" on the bottom is for Dav...

My Niche

I've been blogging for about two years now, although really didn't begin consistently blogging until this past summer. I enjoy writing, sharing pictures and stories about my family, talking about my Weight Loss, reviewing products, hosting giveaways...I pretty much like everything there is about blogging. Most importantly I enjoy the community of bloggers. I have "met" so many great people throughout the blogosphere and like to visit them to see what's happening in their lives. I have even had the pleasure of meeting some bloggers in real life, which was such a fun experience. As I blog more and more, I can't help but want to learn about how to become a better blogger. There are so many successful bloggers out there and by successful, I mean wonderful writers who have loyal readers and commenters. Who doesn't want to have a fan club and comments galore on their posts? As I read peoples blogging tips, one thing that always jumps out at me is that most of th...

And Back Up I Go

Last week my scale was my friend , this week our friendship has slacked. I can't blame it on the scale though. It held up its side of the relationship as it let me stand all over it and ever so kindly reported the dreaded results. I take responsibility for our friendship slipping. The week started our great. I had most of my weekly allowance points, ran on Sunday and Monday, went with Dave to work out on Tuesday, packed great lunches, and enjoyed healthy dinners. Then mid week I began feeling not so hot. I was exhausted at night, which led to early bedtimes and no exercise. Wednesday night all I wanted to do was go to bed, but I made a million rice krispy treats as I had to take 20 to my class, 20 to Dylan's class, 15 to Zoe's class, and over 2 doz to my school for the staff. Of course, this meant enjoying a treat myself here and there. I am quite sure I probably ate at least half a dozen treats that night. Then Thursday came. My class had our Valentines Party ...

Do You Ever Have a Week...

...when it seems like it took absolutely forever to go by, but then when it finally ends you look back and wonder what the heck you did all week because nothing seems accomplished? Yeah, me too. This was my past week. Subscribe in a reader Follow me on Twitter

Tell Me I'm Not the Only One

Is it just me that washes the same load of laundry over and over cause I forget to put it in the dryer so it sits wet in the washer until it smells so stale that it takes an additional cup of laundry detergent plus Febreze to get it to smell fresh again??? Am I the only one?? PS I was totally going to add an image to this post, but you don't even want to know what images I found when I searched "dirty laundry." So I'm going to keep this post cleaner than my laundry and omit the photo. Your welcome!! Subscribe in a reader Follow me on Twitter

The Scale is My Friend Again

Image
I'm so excited that after three weeks of reporting absolutely nothing happening on the weight loss scene I can finally share some happy news. WEEK 6 / -1.5lb / - 5.5 I'm so excited. I even get a cute little button. For the past three weeks I've been counting every point, staying within my points, and exercising regularly. It's been so frustrating to watch my scale not budge an ounce. Now I'm feeling exhilaration that I beat the plateau. There is even more great news...I am now officially less than 10lb away from my goal weight. Woohoo!! So how was your week?? Subscribe in a reader Follow me on Twitter

Kid Conversations

JUST FOR LAUGHS... My mom was doing her daily devotions and Zoe went to ask her to color with her... Zoe - Will you color with me, grandma? Grandma - As soon as I finish reading my Bible this morning. Zoe - Why are you reading your Bible. Grandma - Because I like to and I try to do it everyday. Zoe - Can I see your Bible. Grandma shows Zoe her Bible. Zoe - Grandma that's not a Bible, that's just an ordinary book. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As I was giving Zoe a bath the other night and kneeling by the tub my knee cracked very loudly. Zoe - Mommy are you okay? Me - Yes, it was just my knee that cracked. Zoe - You're falling apart mommy. They are going to have to make a new mommy soon. Me - Thanks Zoe, I love you too!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Me: What did you have for lunch today? Zoe: I had corn and that is my favorite vegetabl...

TV Made Me Think

The other night when I was watching Private Practice one of the shrinks on there said, "The best way to cheer yourself up is to cheer somebody else up." I totally agree. So go spread some cheer today! Subscribe in a reader Follow me on Twitter

Tagged - I'm It

Image
**I just found this in my drafts from last October. It was too good to delete though so enjoy. I was tagged by Trista over at the Pumpkin Patch for a picture meme. I had to go into my picture folders and upload the 6th picture in the 6th folder. This is what I found... This is Dylan getting off the bus after his first day of Kindergarten. Look how little he is!! I can't believe that he is now in 2nd grade. How fast time goes by!! Excuse me while I wipe the tears and blow my nose.

Weight A Minute

Pshew this week went fast for weigh in. Too bad it didn't go nearly as well as it went fast. Weigh in this week was most definitely frustrating. I stayed within my point range. Followed the healthy guidelines. Even exercised three days. Here are my results. WEEK 4 / 0 / -4 What is up with that? Usually I can tell you exactly why my scale says what it does, but honestly this week I don't have a clue. I'm not even sure what goal to set because I really did everything right last week. Oh well. Moving on. Here's to a good week to come!! Subscribe in a reader Follow me on Twitter
