Maybe that Law Is Working
Now I confess that I used my cell phone like nobody's business in the car. I commute 45 minutes one way, every school day, so I found that the time I was subjected to being in the car, the time to make calls to get things done. I'd make doctors/dentist appointments, return calls, and catch up with friends during the long drive. So when the law went into effect, I wondered if I would cut down on my cell phone time or take the risk of being caught.
Well it seems the law has worked.
I do have a bluetooth device in my truck, but it's not my favorite to use. I don't like the fact that my conversations are heard throughout the truck because of little ears. My kids at times are also not the quietest cherubs in the car either so I am embarrassed when I'm trying to talk to somebody and then suddenly they have one of their outbursts. I can only imagine what people think about the unruliness of my children.
I've contemplated maybe the headset thing, but I'm just not too keen on keeping something in my ear. Not to mention I still get amused when I see people "talking to themselves" while walking through stores or outside. Although now that I think about it, it could come in handy when I'm running, but I digress.
So things have been pretty quiet during our car rides.
My conversations have dwindled.
I now only make the essential phone calls from the car and hope that my friends and family don't forget me!
So there you have it.
I guess the law is working.
Except now I'm falling asleep in my car....that's much safer than talking on a cell phone, don't you think?
Do you have a hands free device law in your state/
Do you adhere to it? If so, then what device do you use??
