Remember how last week at this time I was on a plane coming home from Key West? It was good times filled with lots of good food and even more good drinks, like mojitos and margaritas. You know, the drinks that contain sugar, hence calories, equals not at all point friendly. But did I mention how absolutely delicious they were? Anyways, I confess that I did enjoy my drinks while on vacation, but to be honest thought I was pretty darn good with my food choices. I ate fish for every dinner, had a couple veggies, and only one piece of key lime pie our entire visit. That says a lot! While I was away, I also seemed to be moving quite a bit. I ran one morning and don't think I have ever sweat as much as I did that day. Needless to say I did not run any more there, but every day I walked up and down Duval street a few times and all around old town. One day I even rented a bike and pretty much rode around the entire island. The point is I thought I was burning any extra calories I was taking in.
Boy, was that a mistaken assumption. Thursday morning I took an impromptu weigh in to sneak a peek at what it would say and saw that I was up 5.5lb. I was stupefied! How could that be? Here I was thinking how funny it would be to go on vacation and come back having lost weight and I was up 5+pounds. Not cool!
I knew I was going to have to get my bottom into gear so I didn't completely disappoint my Sisterhood Team Black. I started drinking nothing but water, snacking on fruits and veggies, and at least moving as much as possible. I did do a couple days of my EA Sports and a couple walks, but it's been so rainy around here I didn't get any runs in.
After getting back to normal eating mode I'm happy to report that I am down 3lb from that 5.5, but I'm still 2.5lb up from last weeks weigh in. That means that I am right back to my starting weight of the Sisterhoods Summer Challenge. YUCK! The most disappointing part is that I had actually made it into the 130's albeit 139 when we left for vacation. I only had four pounds to go to reach my goal weight!!
Oh well, no use crying over spilled milk, or consumed mojitos for that matter. I'm back on track, have a fridge stocked with fruits and veggies, the water jug filled with ice cold water, and lots of cleaning/laundry to do to keep me moving.
My goal: BACK into the 130's by next weeks weigh in.
I WILL DO IT!!
