LOSE FOR $1 million dollars of GOOD

Do you remember when I talked about this?

I was more determined than ever knowing that my loss would be somebodys gain. Well the Lose for Good Campaign came to a close on October 18th and the totals have finished being tallied. Are you read for the results?

First let's review.

The goal was simple: For every pound lost by Weight Watchers members and subscribers between 9/7/08 and 10/18/08, Weight Watchers would donate the equivalent of one pound of food, up to one million dollars, to one of two organizations: Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger. In addition, through neighborhood efforts, Weight Watchers Members and Staff had the opportunity to contribute food locally to those who were having a hard time making ends meet.

The results astonishing: During the six week period, Weight Watchers members and online subscribers lost over an estimated 4 million pounds. Weight Watchers met their full donation goal and will be making a collective $1 million donation to two outstanding hunger fighting organizations, Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger. Weight Watchers Volunteers and Staff also organized food drives and donated an unbelievable estimated 1.5 million pounds of food to local food banks.

How cool is that?

I personally loss 6 pounds during the campaign so I was responsible for 6 pounds of food being donated. What a great feeling to be able to help. I'm so excited that I was able to take part in such an awesome opportunity.

  1. CONGRATS ON LOSING 6 POUNDS! You look good! I just reached my 10% mark, so I am excited about that. I would like to lose 10 more by Christmas, but we'll see how it goes with the holidays...
