Let's Do It Together

You may have read that I recently re-subscribed to Weight Watchers Online in an effort to get my last 20 pounds off. If you read about my earlier journey then you also know that I have had a successful experience so far with Weight Watchers as I have lost over 40 pounds using the program!

Now I must clarify for you all that I only used, and am only using, the Weight Watchers Online program. I don't attend meetings at all. Rather I use all the easy E-tools that Weight Watchers Online provides their subscribers such as the point tracker, weight tracker, exercise tracker, recipe maker, message boards, and all sorts of other cool stuff.

When you join Weight Watchers online you have the ability to choose your food plan. Your can choose either the Flex Plan where you are given a certain amount of points and can eat what you choose as long as you stay within your point range or the Core Plan where you can eat as much as you want as long as the food is a core food. You may have read that I do not do diets that tell me what I can and cannot eat. So one guess what I chose. Yep, the flex plan. For my height, weight, and movement during the day I am allotted 21 points that I can use however I choose. Of course the more fruits and veggies I eat, the more food I am allowed since they are so low in points, but if I want that Oreo cookie, not a problem as long as I count the points. The food tracker is a breeze to use to keep track of your points. The majority of the foods that I eat are already in their database so all I have to do is type in the name of the food and voila, I know how many points it is. If I'm making something special for dinner then I can use the recipe builder where I enter all the ingredients, how many servings it has, and then know exactly how many points the recipe is. So easy!!

Why am I telling you all this?

Well I got lucky the other day and met a PR for Weight Watchers on Twitter!! Since I was such a fan of Weight Watchers and knew I was going to be re-joining the program I just had to ask if there would be a way I could get a subscription to giveaway. Guess what??!! Not only did she give me one subscription, but she offered me 3!! I was so excited.

So now you can have the opportunity to try out Weight Watchers Online for yourself and we can be Weight Watcher buddies! I will be giving away one online subscription here at A Box of Chocolates, plus I will also be giving one away at Blissfully Domestic where I share Weight Watcher friendly recipes, and one at Chic Critique where I share health, beauty, and fashion tips. I will let you know when the giveaway is posted at each of the sites.

All you have to do to win is leave a comment here telling me why you should win. Of course if you enter, I already know that you want to lose weight, but tell me "why" you want to lose weight. I will use random.org to choose the lucky winner on Sunday, August 24th.

Want an even better chance at winning. Here are some ways to earn some extra chances:
  • Link to my giveaway on your blog
  • Subscribe to my blog by clicking on that bright orange button on the top of my sidebar
  • Add me to your blogroll
  • Add my button to your blog

How am I going to be able to check that you do all that you say? Truth is I'm not superwoman, but thanks for thinking it, so I will be relying on good ol' code of honesty. In order to get your extra chances please leave a separate comment for each item above that you complete. I will then enter number 1 through my last commenter's number to see who the lucky winner is!! Basically the more comments you have, because of the more items you completed, then the better chance you have of winning. Clear as mud! Terrific.

If you have any questions just shoot me an email at melsboxofchocolates@gmail.com.

Good luck!!

ME ME ME! I want to lose weight because I weigh more now than I have ever weighed, and I hate that. I want to fix back into my size 4 and 6 clothes because I felt good about myself at that size. WW Online would be perfect for me because I simply do not have the time or the energy to attend meetings, what with working.

Erin said...

Oh, and you're already in my blog roll... does that count as an extra entry?;p

Also, I tagged you! :)

I am currently journaling my weightloss (which isn't going so well) via video on my own blog so this would be a very nice and very helpful prize.

I want to lose weight so that I can chase my toddler around the yard without having an asthma attack.

I want to lose weight so that the intimacy between my husband and I will be better.

I want to lose weight because I'm tired just plain tired of being the "fat one".

Life is busy with a child, teaching, and a husband who works 12 plus hours a day. Weight watchers would help to focus on me again. It would allow me to lose my last 15 pounds from pregnancy and get me to focus on eating healthy for me! So pick me, me, me! Thank you!!

I'm about 180 pounds overweight. It's nothing new; I've been overweight since about 4 months old. Still, I have to work really really hard at reducing - or even maintaining - my weight. I joined WW at Work in January of this year, and I've been able to lose 35 pounds so far. Unfortunately, a new group didn't start up with the first 12 weeks were up, so I'm back on my own again. The e-tools were great!

No ME! Seriously, with a diabetic husband who needs to lose weight as well as a mommy who has let herself go after a pretty stressful 2 + years with all sorts of life situations.... I REALLY need help in the area of keeping myself accountable.
Thanks for the offer!

Hey girl~ I'm very interested in this! I have a neighbor who lost 20 on WW and now works part time thru them. I bought the book kit thing with the calculator. Just don't know how to use it.

I'd love to learn more about the online group anyway. I hope I win, but if not, I still want to learn. Maybe we can do some sort of buddy group? :)

I just started doing it again today here at home and this would be A GREAT WAY to really get into it right and get some results. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pick me!

Lizann said...

what a coincidence... I just signed up for the WW online free trial last week, and was trying to decide if I should renew! I was so impressed by your results that I have been wanting to sign up for a while. But I was waiting to get through the pregnancy. I like it a lot--flexible, but keeps you focused. And I like how they have a special consideration for nursing mothers, since I am still breastfeeding. I want to lose the baby weight, but not so quickly that I affect the milk supply! So I hope it's me!!!

I actually lost almost 60 lbs on WW in 2006, before I got pregnant. Then, I went off program (they don't provide support during pregnancies) and fell back into all of my bad habits.

My daughter is one year old now and I can keep up with her - for now. But I know that some day, if I stay the way I am, she will outrun me. I want to re-lose my weight so I can be a positive role model to her and so I can be around for her to have her own children.

Hi! I want to lose weight in hopes that I will be able to finally conceive a second child. I conceived my son 7.5 years ago after losing weight, and hope that it is the 'missing' piece that I have been waiting for 4 years to fall into place. I had used WW online before (and lost weight) but a cross-country move 4 years ago combined with the cost resulted in me giving it up.

Even if I don't win, I am excited to find a new blog to read!

Hubby and I did WW about 5 years ago. I was 10 lbs from my goal when we hit a really hard time in our family.

My mom went into the hospital with stomach pains. She was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer and passed away within 3 weeks.

Three months after that my mother-in-law, who had been through thyroid issues, breast cancer and emphasyma passed away.

Exactly one month later my father-in-law, who had also been through a lenghty illness, passed away.

Three parents in four months pushed my hubby and I back into the Emotional Eating cycle and we haven't been able to pull ourselves back out.

I was looking at - and backing up - old pictures and came across some from our "skinny" days. We both got very depressed and want to get back to a healthier eating style.

I have the exercise thing down this time though - I'm at the gym 5 days/week for weight lifting and yoga so if I can get my eating habits back with a WW membership I would be so excited and grateful.

Thank you for the opportunity.

For the first time in my life, I was skinny. I've always been chubby. Then I got married, and I got fat. I then immediately got pregnant. I now have 50 lbs to lose again. And no time to do it, it feels like. Help!

Just last week I looked into Weight Watchers. I want to lose the weight I gained over the last two years when I went from a corporate employee to a self-employed business coach. A majority of my time is sitting at a desk or eating a meal and I have gained so much weight I have very little clothes I can fit in. Not to mention I am 49 and at a time in life when weight does not come off easy. It is not fun getting old!

I added you to my blogroll. I would love winning the WW Online. I am bound and determined to lose this weight once and for all. I have probably 140 pounds to lose, but I'm most worried about the first 100. I am also determined to do it on my own. I mean that: ON MY OWN! I struggle with food. I have not tried an actual "program" per se, so it might just follow that trying a program is the answer to my lack of resolve with the food. I LOVE the gym. Strength and cardio are not an issue for me. I'm thinking that a specific framework might be the missing link.

I'm a single mom of a 10 year old boy, and I can't afford to pay for a program on top of bills, gas for work, and the cost of running him all over for school and athletics.

WW online would be an awesome resource for me and it would continue to allow me to be independent which is really important to me.

I had a really rough pregnancy culminating in pre-term labor and bedrest, and I gained more weight than was healthy during my pregnancy. I gave birth on June 5 (two weeks early) to a beautiful baby girl, Rowan. I'm having trouble shedding the extra weight, and since my new baby is colicky and very, very, very high-needs I don't have the time to take care of ME. Why do I want to lose weight? I watch my parents who are overweight (maybe obese as far as the BMI is concerned. They take a cocktail of pills each day to counter everything from type II diabetes to high blood pressure to cholesterol. They can't get up and down off the floor without assistance. They are only in their 60's. I feel like I could easily slip down that path and do not want to. Thanks for the chance to win a great giveaway. I've been told from close friends that WW works and I am likely going to start it myself, even if I don't win your fantastic giveaway. Thanks.

Losing weight would most likely result in my HBP being lowered so I could go off the meds. That would be a added bonus to losing the weight in order to feel better and get back in the smaller sized clothes hanging in my closet!!

I need to lose 65 pounds. I believe that Weight Watchers can be a healthy and permanent way for me to do it. I checked for a local meeting and unfortunately the nearest location is a 30 minute drive each way. With a busy family of 5 and the price of gas, local meetings are not an option for me. I really want to use the Weight Watchers Online program; however, I am hesitant because of the initial cost involved. The monthly fee is not the problem it's the extra registration fee. So I will give it a shot in hopes to win a subscription here, then I can keep it going by just paying the monthly fee. Thanks!

I just can't seem to get motivated. I do exercise though, so I think the online tool would be just the ticket for me.
Thanks for the opportunity.
